“Many people didn't realize that these elephants actually existed”
With ivory to the ground and weighing at least 100 lbs per tusk, the 'super tusker' elephant is the closest thing to a pre-historic creature that still resides on this planet. Yet, there only remains a handful of them in Kenya as they face immense pressure and challenges.
We hope this film reminds us of the extraordinary living creatures that we share on this planet of ours - and that its existence is one worth fighting.
Director: Goh Iromoto
Living with Wildlife from Canada🇨🇦
Darren Enns, director of planning and development for the Town of Banff said that “A number of the key findings to do with human & wildlife coexistence in the Bow Valley were around the management of humans.” Therefore, it can be clearly seen that we urgently need to learn about wildlife, learn about how to protect them and get along with them.
Director: Leanne Allison
Wildlife 'Not Pets' Documentary
From multiple countries including Japan🇯🇵, Malaysian🇲🇾, Borneo🇧🇳 and Indonesia🇮🇩.
This film also showed us why we should not buy wild animals as pets in a unique perspective, revealing the secret of the complicated social relationship between consumers and sellers. Further, this film adopted the power of reflexivity to make viewers well participant in the process of digging into the issue, so we think it would be a splendid experience for you!
Director: Will Foster Grundy
Birdline / Animation (Animal trading)
A beautiful film that makes us think about illegal trading. Birds have been seen as pets. however, they belong in their habitat where they can fly free, sing and live happily. There are many people around the globe making efforts to help those animals who have been hurt by illegal animal trading, this beautiful and fun short film brings the question. Wildlife must chill in its habitat. Have you ever help an animal being hurt?
Director: Evan Durushie
The Rhino Guardians from South Africa 🇿🇦
Coming from disadvantaged communities and breaking strong patriarchal tradition, these courageous women focus on eliminating illegal wildlife trade through conservation, education and the protection of wildlife, helping to ensure the long term survival of threatened and endangered species in the area. Each day they patrol up to 20km, unarmed, looking for poachers, wire-snares, and break-ins along the fence line. Their lives are at constant risk from poachers and the dangerous wildlife they protect.
